The New

St. George Building Site

Consecration Service

On Saturday, May 7th , consecration of the grounds for our new St. George Serbian Orthodox Church building site in Lenexa, Kansas was held.

The blessing service was performed by our diocesan Archbishop, Metropolitan Christopher, assisted by Fr. Aleksandar Bugarin, parish priest, Fr. Peter Milosevich, priest from St. Louis and several local Orthodox clergy.

A wooden cross was erected where the future Holy Table will be located.

For the St. George community, this a huge step from our current parish location in Kansas City, Kansas, where we have had our place of worship for 80 years to our new location in the city of Lenexa, Kansas.

Ground breaking for our new church and fellowship hall is expected in a few weeks, with projected completion in 2006.

With our Lords help, we are hoping to consecrate a new Church and celebrate the 100th anniversary of our existence in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
