Born, October 4th 1968, the son of Fr. Milos Bugarin, a Serbian Orthodox Priest, and his mother Jelica, (nee Ljubicic), in the small village of Pacir in the northern part of Yugoslavia, near Backa Topola.   Click Here to see a map of Serbia

He came to the United States in 1989 to attend the newly opened St. Sava School of Theology in Libertyville. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Theology degree.

During his stay at St. Sava Monastery, he met Gordana Markovic and they were wedded May 14th 1994.

Fr. Aleks  and  Popadija  Gordana  have three  children, Jelena, Stevan and Kristijana.

The  Bugarin family, Slava, is Sv. Luka, celebrated October 31.

Fr. Aleks was ordained a Deacon by Metropolitan Christopher in July 1994 and appointed to Kansas City. Later that same year he was ordained to the priesthood. Taking over for the retiring Proto Milan Bajich on January 1, 1995, Fr. Aleksandar became parish priest of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Kansas City where he serves today.

On Saturday, February 2, 2002 while celebrating the Divine Liturgy at St. Sava Monastery,  Metropolitan Christopher  awarded Fr. Aleksandar the "Red Sash" . This is the first priest rank award in the Serbian Orthodox Church.
